The Maritime Cluster of Andalusia (CMMA), in collaboration with the Andalusian Energy Agency and the Naval Cluster of Cadiz, organizes and celebrates the 3rd regional edition of the Blue Energy Lab on 31 May at the Entrepreneurs Confederation of Cadiz. The aim of this event is to show the advances and developments in renewable marine energies that are taking place in Andalusia, as well as the work done in this sector by companies and technology and research centers of the region.
Blue Energy Lab (BEL) is part of the European project MAESTRALE of the Interreg MED programme, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, because the use of marine resources to obtain clean energy is one of the strategies of the European Union to promote renewable energies and, specifically, in the Mediterranean area.
Therefore, this BEL aims to promote the development of innovative marine energy projects in the Mediterranean area as a key sector for sustainable growth, as well as to develop initiatives for the use of renewable energies in the Andalusian region.
The event will be officially inaugurated at 10:30h at the Entrepreneurs Confederation of Cadiz by the following authorities of the Andalusian province and region:
- Javier Sánchez Rojas, President of the Entrepreneurs Confederation of Cadiz.
- Diego Chaves, President of the Naval Cluster of Cadiz.
- Eduardo González Mazo, Rector of the University of Cádiz.
- Javier Noriega Hernández, President of the Maritime Cluster of Andalusia.
- Jorge Jiménez Luna, Manager of the Andalusian Energy Agency.
After the I BEL in Malaga on 19 October 2018 and the II BEL in Almeria on 30 January, also organized by the CMMA, the third regional edition will be developed through various presentations made by different local, regional, national and international experts (University of Cadiz, Navantia, ValenciaPort, EnerOcean, Sabella), who will expose the possibilities of Andalusia and the Mediterranean in the generation of renewable marine energy and the most pioneering projects of the sector.
A 30-minute coffee-break will be held halfway through the day, after which the presentations will be resumed, and finally a round table will be held to conclude at 13:30, at the end of the event.
